Artwork Guidelines

Additional charges may apply depending on the nature and extent of your requirements. We normally charge a minimum basic rate of £35* for artwork where a logo is added to a stock design template. This does not include any further alterations, amendments or correction associated with visuals and concepts of both colour and design. Bespoke designs and layouts will be quoted independently and on an ad-hoc basis to include various proofs and visuals. Please see information relating to IP of all artwork created by BCC.**

If you already have your own artwork available please read below for your information as regards our basic requirements:-

General Tips:

Please read the following carefully. If you have any doubts please contact us directly.

We are able to offer a large variety of services to help you get the best image on your flag or banner - including:

  • Full design service

  • Image manipulation

  • Redraws to vector(eps) files

We are able to handle all files, but for the quickest and most economic handling of your designs, please submit artwork in one of these preferred filetypes:

  • Adobe Illustrator (.ai)

  • PostScript (.eps)

  • Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) - print quality output

  • JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) - must be high resolution print ready

  • SVG* (Scalable Vector Graphic)

Fonts must be supplied for all documents as well as those used in supporting imported or placed files. Text to outlines: Where possible all text should be converted to curves, this prevents your typeface being replaced with a similar one.

Scanned Images

Scanned images should be supplied as separate files, saved in EPS or PDF Resolution: Scanning resolution is relative to the final Image. When a scan is at the actual finished size, the scan image resolution (DPI) should be at least 300dpi.

To choose your Hex Number and match your cloth colour as accurately as possible please use our colour picker page. With regard to convention printing of banners and similar other marketing materials, our printers are CMYK mode. Special colours must be clearly indicated and accompanied by appropriate Pantone Reference Numbers or CMYK values.

CD/DVD or USB Stick

Finished files can be accepted on CD/DVD or USB Stick. Files can also be uploaded via ftp ( is a free option) or by email to

Due to the numerous software packages available for artwork creation, we are unable to support them all. Please export your files to an EPS format or PDF or high-resolution JPG

 * SVG - Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is an XML-based vector image format for two-dimensional graphics with support for interactivity and animation. The SVG specification is an open standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) since 1999. SVG images and their behaviours are defined in XML text files.

** All artwork produced is owned by the creator and all copyrights and Intelectual Property thereof. Artworks Source Files may be available for outright purchase if required and prices will be negotiated on an individual basis.
